After working in various roles within the construction industry, including as a cement mixer driver and sales manager, Mitch faced an unexpected job separation, prompting him to pivot toward the insurance field.
Mitch shares how his first year in insurance was overwhelming but transformative, filled with learning and growth. He recalls that participating in the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) offered invaluable insights, allowing him to network with other agents and expand his knowledge about various insurance options. By staying proactive and engaging with potential clients through a retail kiosk, he successfully cultivated leads and gained referrals from dental offices, which significantly contributed to his business growth.
Mitch also speaks about the importance of goal-setting and the necessity of having a safety net while transitioning careers. He emphasizes the need for new agents to maintain resilience and be willing to put in the hard work, including considering part-time jobs if needed. Mitch encourages you to prioritize your health by taking quality vitamins early on to potentially reduce healthcare costs later in life.
