On this episode of The Ty Brady Way, Ty is joined by Reed Smith! Reid shares how he has been working in the Medicare space for nearly 25 years but currently works in product development, mainly dealing with ancillary products. Reed explains how ancillary products are anything that fills a gap or a new with a product such as co-payments, deductibles, heart stroke policies etc. Ty and Reed speak about one of the very first policies he sold to a client who purchased a cancer plan and then was diagnosed with cancer two months later but her plan paid out $50,000 with which she was able to receive experimental treatment and remodel her house.
Reed emphasizes the importance of educating clients about insurance instead just selling it to them. Looking to the future, Reed predicts that the ancillary market for insurance will continue to grow as healthcare costs rise and new treatments and medical innovations emerge and he predicts that traditional insurance will have a hard time keeping up with these progressions.

On this episode of The Ty Brady Way, Ty is joined by Kenyon Petersen! Throughout this episode Kenyon shares his success story on how he went from a Landscaping business owner to Insurance Agent. Kenyon speaks about whilst running his landscaping business he began to see the stress of his job impact his health so he decided to end the business. Kenyon talks about how he originally got his insurance license to help his mother reach the next level in her business however he didn’t algin with the practices of the company she was working for so he eventually decided to not pursue it, before meeting Ty’s manager and deciding to become an insurance agent.
Kenyon shares how he has always wanted to help people and he enjoyed the aspect of working with elderly clients during his landscaping years but how he really struggled to be successful in that filed without it taking a toll on his health. Kenyon speaks about how it was this desire to help people that led him to becoming an insurance agent and how he is in a much better place both physically and mentally knowing he can make a positive impact on others’ lives every day whilst also being successful in his career!
